Most miter saws have hold down clamps, but what’s unique about the WORX Nitro 20V 7-1/4 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw is that the hold down clamp is lever-operated and holds down the work piece on both sides of the blade. This maintains a stationary work piece throughout the cut. The feature offers a safer solution in keeping hands away from the blade during cutting operations. No other miter saw has this dual feature.
Power and performance are characteristic of WORX Power Share PRO batteries. Power Share PRO batteries provide improved power protection and runtime through an intelligent battery management system with cell-cooling technology. Each battery’s cell is wrapped in thermoplastic material to dissipate heat and maximize power and performance.
The 20V miter saw handles home projects or those at the job site. Its cordless versatility allows users to forego the need for a power outlet. The 7-1/4 in. saw easily cross-cuts 1×6’s, 1x8s or 2×4’s in no time at all. Besides cutting crown molding, trim, window casements, it cuts picture frames and more. The saw is capable of cutting planks, posts and rails for deck building.
Maximum depth of cut at 90º is 2-1/4 in. The saw’s hi-vis miter scale helps set up miter cuts from 0 to 47º with positive detent stops at 0, 15, 30 and 47º left/right. For beveled or angled cuts, the bevel scale sets cuts at Oº and 45º. Depth stop adjustments are included for repetitive cut operations. For standard miter cuts, the slider’s lock knob is engaged. When released, the saw can cross-cut wider pieces of stock.
The saw is equipped with a WORX 20V, 4.0Ah, Power Share PRO battery, which is compatible with up to 100 other WORX 20V, 40V and 80V DIY and lawn and garden tools and lifestyle products for cost savings and convenience. The battery pack snaps into the saw’s body and has a push-button release. The battery has an LED fuel gauge, visible from the saw’s exterior that shows charge levels during operation.
The sliding compound miter saw has a no-load speed of 3600 rpm. Built-in LEDs on both sides of the blade illuminate the work are and create a shadow, which serves as the cutline guide. For dust removal, a dust bag is included. When not in use, a shop vac can be connected to the dust port.
The WORX Nitro 20V Power Share 7-1/4 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw features an ergonomic D-shaped handle grip suitable for right or left-handed users. The trigger is built into the handle for easy on/off operation. Enclosed, linear ball bearings provide smooth and controlled slide operation on the saw’s rails.
The saw’s two-part adjustable fence supports taller stock, such as crown molding. The fence is 3-1/4 in.H on the left and 2-1/2 in.H on the right. Left and right extension wings support longer pieces of stock and fold-up for storage and easy transport.
There are four integrated mounting holes built into the saw’s base to mount the saw temporarily or permanently to a workbench.
The miter saw also is compatible with most portable miter saw stands.
