California Joins Tennis Red Wave: First Ever Innovative RedClay Tennis Courts

California’s first ever RedClay Pro® brand tennis courts, a super water-stingy German innovation pushing California onto clay.

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — RedClay USA LLC announces the first California installation of their innovative RedClay Pro® tennis court systems, imported from Germany, and already changing American tennis everywhere since 2018.

California is now expected to grow into a long-awaited clay court haven for American tennis, like Florida, based on trends RedClay USA is developing and promoting across the country with their new clay court technology.

“Our first court in California is a major part of the coast to coast spread of our RedClay courts. It’s imported red clay and clever engineering that removes the costs to keep the clay in peak condition, and as important, uses very little water compared to traditional clay,” states RCUSA President Brian Osterberg.

“These courts are the only practical solution for clay courts in regions with water restrictions. They never require manual labor for rolling/compaction, and need only quick surface moistening for play. Otherwise, they can remain perfectly dry when not in use”, states Osterberg.

The first RedClay Pro® court in California, is considered a major catalyst in moving American tennis squarely back to clay courts, rather than hard courts. RCUSA states the multiple negatives of hard courts as the predominant surface to play on is the real “elephant on the court” in U.S. tennis.

Sacramento teaching pro Matt Bruner is responsible for building the first California RedClay Pro® court this summer. Uses include: tennis teaching, ATP/WTA training and the personal enjoyment of returning to clay tennis, in a region where water-use and maintenance costs are always an issue. Bruner will add the innovative clay for use in his association with his duties at JMG Tennis Academy and Rollingwood YMCA.

Osterberg states, “I can safely predict the Red Wave will continue to convert hard courts across the U.S. to RedClay, and set off the age of RedClay tournaments for professionals, colleges, juniors and amateurs in the U.S. Imagine year-round RedClay tournaments: indoors and outdoors, all the time, everywhere. A new RedClay in America that answers the call made by Rafael Nadal, and every U.S. teaching pro: More clay court tennis please!”
