Valkyrie Velocity and Lamborghini Austin Join Forces as Texas Powerhouse for Lamborghini Super Trofeo Season

Austin-Based Businesses Valkyrie and Lamborghini Austin Will Compete for the Season-Long Championship with a Multi-Car Team

AUSTIN, Texas, May 13, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Valkyrie Velocity, the championship-winning race platform, and Lamborghini Austin have joined forces for a multi-car team in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, beginning with two cars this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the season opener.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo project came together for Valkyrie Velocity, who has previously competed in IMSA-sanctioned championships under the Hardpoint banner, through partnerships from a pair of Austin-based companies in Lamborghini Austin and Valkyrie.

Raymond Davoudi will drive the team’s No. 11 El Chingon Mexican Restaurant Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 for the full 2023 season in the LB Cup class, while the No. 12 Valkyrie/Daxxon Gray Motorsports car will be co-driven by Dominic Starkweather and Cam Aliabadi at the season opener in the Am class in Monterey, California.

While most teams in Lamborghini Super Trofeo work in partnership with a Lamborghini dealership, the partnership between Valkyrie Velocity and Lamborghini Austin runs deeper. Lamborghini Austin and Valkyrie are based in Austin, Texas, which supplies a symbiotic relationship between the two partners. Lamborghini Austin and Valkyrie Velocity will jointly host various VIP and high-end events on-site at Lamborghini Austin, combining track events, racing customers, and street-car customers.

“From the formation, we have worked to build a platform that allows us to go racing while allowing partners to build their business and brands on the strengths of the sports car racing paddock,” Valkyrie Velocity owner Rob Ferriol said. “I have to thank Bruce and the team at Lamborghini Austin for recognizing that in us. The synergies for an Austin-based company to work closely with the team at Valkyrie off the track are a benefit for all of us.”

Lamborghini Austin opened in 2018 and has quickly become one of the top dealerships in the United States, being recognized with the prestigious Lamborghini Campione award for five consecutive years. Representing Austin and central and south Texas, Lamborghini Austin has exceeded sales targets for five consecutive years and has recorded year-over-year growth from 2018-2022. Known for its innovative marketing and promotional campaigns, Lamborghini Austin has previously partnered with University of Texas legend and current Atlanta Falcon running back Bijan Robinson, Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, MotoGP team Pramac, Super Trofeo champion Shehan Chandrasoma, and ATX Supercars.

“Lamborghini Austin is honored to join Valkyrie Velocity in competing in the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo series,” Bruce Knox, Lamborghini Austin’s Managing Partner, said. “While we have sponsored championship-winning drivers in the past, this is our first effort to partner with a team. We believe in the mission of Valkyrie; we look forward to supporting their efforts with Valkyrie Velocity and challenging for the Super Trofeo championship.”

The Austin-based Valkyrie is an applied science company that builds custom artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for its clients and investment funds. Since its start in 2017, Valkyrie has worked for top Fortune 500 companies and US government agencies, solving their most complex and pressing challenges. By finding the hidden insights within data, their team creates solutions that allow their clients to act on empirically backed intelligence and thrive in a data-driven world.

“We’re very excited to welcome Lamborghini of Austin to the Valkyrie Velocity team and to have Ray, Dominic, Cam, and the rest of our drivers join us this season,” Toni Calderon, Valkyrie Chief Growth Officer, said. “As an Austin-based company, partnering with Lamborghini of Austin and Bruce’s team is a way for two leading organizations in central Texas to join forces and collaborate as we explore ways to grow our companies through Motorsport. Valkyrie and Lamborghini of Austin already have a deep history working together. As official partners, we look forward to setting an example of how local dealerships and technology companies can come together to maximize the potential of motorsport marketing and corporate hospitality.”

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo season begins this Friday, May 12, with a pair of practices in conjunction with the WeatherTech Championship event. The field will qualify on Saturday morning before racing at 2:20 p.m. PT (5:20 ET) on Saturday afternoon. Sunday’s second race begins at 9:40 a.m. PT (12:20 ET), with both races streamed live on IMSA.tv.
