VENTURA, Calif., July 31, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Live from X Games California 2023 with a motocross legend and upstart! Monster Energy is proud to welcome Moto X athlete Harry Bink and Monster Army’s Benny Richards on Episode 316 of the sports and pop culture podcast UNLEASHED with The Dingo, Danny, and Brittney.

Recorded onsite in Ventura during X Games California 2023, the one-hour episode was initially broadcast live on the Twitch platform on July 22, 2023. Today, fans have the chance to tune in to the official recording of the episode featuring the two Australian dirtbike pros: 29-year-old Bink from Canberra already has two X Games bronze medals to his name, while 22-year-old Richards from Wagga Wagga is looking for that first podium. Will this be the year?

Speaking on the special significance of X Games: “Coming to X Games now, I’m looking at a bunch of really high-class athletes. To be at this level of what they are doing, you have to be a full-blown athlete now. You need to have your personal trainer… they are the one-percenters,” said Bink on UNLEASHED.

For the full conversation with the two X Games gold medalists, tune into Episode 316 of UNLEASHED with The Dingo, Danny, and Brittney Fueled by Monster Energy. Released today, the new podcast is streaming on all major platforms, including Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube.

Harry Bink is one of the progressive drivers of the Australian freestyle motocross scene. Raised on self-made dirt jumps, he risked everything to turn pro at age 17 and has built a milestone-heavy career. With two X Games bronze medals to his name, the trick innovator landed his first-ever triple backflip at the 2022 Nitro World Games. Bink has also been mentoring young Benny Richards in the sport. The young prodigy mastered backflips at the tender age of 14 and barged into the international spotlight in video features produced by Monster Energy. After taking sixth place at X Games 2022, Richards returns as the youngest Moto X competitor at X Games California 2023. Learn about the duo’s strategies for the big event – only on UNLEASHED.

Hear the inside story in conversation with the three podcast hosts, Australian action sports personality Luke “The Dingo” Trembath, professional snowboarder Danny Kass, as well as painter, model, and UFC ambassador Brittney Palmer. Tune in right here.

Bink had nothing handed to him in terms of athletic support growing up in Canberra. He built his skills on self-made dirt jumps, where he taught himself how to backflip a dirtbike. He has since relocated to the country’s Gold Coast. “I’ve been on the Gold Coast for almost ten years and don’t really see myself heading back to Canberra any time soon,” said Bink, adding that sponsorship has made a big difference in his career: “I have been with Monster almost ten years now. It’s crazy!”

Speaking of sponsorship, young Richards and his brother Tommy were the first Moto X athletes to receive support in the Monster Army amateur program. “I want to keep it going. I really want to see what’s possible and keep pushing it. Stay calm, collected,” said Richards.

It hasn’t been a walk in the park for Richards, who still pursued a career as a carpenter before last year’s summer X Games. Putting it all on the line as a pro rider, the young gun made an impression in 2022 by landing a double backflip for sixth place amongst the best in the sport. “The double flip has only been up my sleeve for two years now,” said Richards. “I’ve done a bunch. They feel good. Still super scary, obviously.”

Learning from the best, Richards trains on the private compound created by his mentor and Monster Energy teammate, Jackson Strong, in Wagga Wagga. “I prefer freestyle, only because of the level that’s so hard right now. And the people competing, it’s taken them their whole careers to get to the point and learn the tricks they are doing now. It’s so hard for me to come in as a new guy and be at that level.”

Recently Bink’s training efforts have yielded a personal milestone: “I did my first triple backflip in 2022. I really enjoyed the training and preparation leading into it. Big ramp riding is where my passion is at. I think the taller you go, there is just more room in the air. It just scares the hell out of me and keeps me alive,” said Bink. Speaking on the evolution of the sport, Bink said: “I think that a new chapter is about to be created in FMX!”

Recently, Bink has been perfecting his groundbreaking tricks in a private freestyle compound on the Gold Coast, where he trains with Australian Monster Energy teammates. “Really close friends let us use their land. We have a really good relationship with them and have had the compound for about six years now. Airbags, foam pits… and there are snakes in the foam pit,” said Bink.
