Black Woman Advocate Nikki Porcher traveled the country to capture founder stories for Buy From A Black Woman docuseries.
PHOENIX, Feb. 1, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Last year Nikki Porcher traveled across the country to meet with Black Women and capture their stories on film for The Living Examples series. The docuseries tells the stories of 24 Black Women Business Owners and how their journey shaped them into the leaders they are today.
“Black Women have a way of dreaming dreams that no one else could ever imagine. Black Women are living examples of what is possible, not only when you believe in yourself, but also when you have the support of a community that believes in you,” says Nikki Porcher, founder of nonprofit organization Buy From A Black Woman.
“I wanted to give Black Women a space to share their dreams, their stories, and most importantly, their communities. It was important for me to show how Black Women are living examples to their communities,” explains Nikki.
The Living Examples docuseries is a Buy From A Black Woman Production in partnership with H&M. “Black Women Business Owners are trailblazers and it is so important we share their stories to provide examples of success for future generations of entrepreneurs,” says Donna Dozier Gordon, H&M’s Head of Inclusion and Diversity for Region Americas.
“We hope that this docuseries will inspire more Black women to take the chance to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and that the spotlight on the support system available through the Buy From a Black Woman community will encourage others to get involved in,” adds Donna.
The business owners featured in the series are all members of the Buy From A Black Woman community. Nikki traveled cross-country, visiting 19 cities in nine states on her quest to capture their inspirational stories. The founders will be highlighted throughout Black History Month.
“These founders are making Black history today. Historically we haven’t had the privilege of honoring our leaders while they’re still here. But we’re changing that by shining a light on the legacies they’re creating right here, right now,” shares Nikki.The Living Examples is currently streaming on BFABW.tv.
