NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Girls Inc., the preeminent girls’ leadership organization providing direct services and advocacy with and for girls, has launched its first-ever National Alumnae Association. Designed specifically for individuals across the US and Canada who participated in its programming, the Association is a continuation of the Girls Inc. Experience, providing alums ages 18 and over with specialized resources such as professional development, networking, and learning opportunities to support them throughout all stages of their lives.

“The Girls Inc. Experience has been proven to provide young people with opportunities to grow as leaders and develop their inherent strengths,” said Girls Inc. President and CEO Stephanie J. Hull, Ph.D. “In safe, pro-girl spaces, and with their mentors and their sisters, they discover the resources that will support them as they hone the skills to pursue their passions and become healthy, educated, independent adults. The Girls Inc. Alumnae Association allows these strong local networks they have created to become a much broader and more powerful network that reaches across North America. Alums across the US and Canada can now collaborate and share their insights and expertise on the issues that matter most to them.”

“Social capital is essential for thriving, whether it’s among parents on a single block or the kids from summer camp,” said Girls Inc. Alumnae Association President and National Board Member Adriane Johnson-Williams, Ph.D. “Girls Inc. has a long history of helping girls to be strong, smart, and bold, which means alums are plentiful. Bringing us together will amplify the impact of Girls Inc., increase our social capital, and help us thrive as adults.”

Alums can join through the web or download the free Girls Inc. Alumnae Association mobile app on Google Play and Apple stores. The community features online courses, webinars, event listings, live streaming of events, and career resources. Members, including those who attended Girls Club of America prior to 1990, are encouraged to download and sign-up for the app and register to join the online community.
