Climate Emergency is Over – Censorship and ENGO Groupthink are Driving Energy Crisis and Global Famine says Friends of Science

The Biden administration may declare a “Climate Emergency” so as to enact war-time style mobilization, says Friends of Science, reporting that Net Zero would cost the USAUS$433 trillion, or 20 times the U.S.A. 2019 GDP.” Climate censorship by media and more recent draconian interventions by Big Tech, like those proposed by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), have pushed the West into an energy crisis and the world into famine; open, civil debate and full cost-benefit analysis is urgently needed.

CALGARY, Alberta, July 21, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — As reported by the Washington Times, July 19, 2022, the Biden administration may invoke Executive Orders to declare a ‘climate emergency’ after green energy legislation fell apart in Congress, but the alleged climate emergency is over, says Friends of Science Society. The catastrophic scenario known as RCP 8.5 is deemed implausible. Without it, there is no climate emergency.

Climate activists like Ezra Silk, Seth Klein and ‘our house is on fire’ originator Margaret Klein Salamon have been agitating for a War Measures Act to ‘fight climate change’; Deutsche Bank has called for an ‘eco-dictatorship.‘ Even the Quebec press in Canada has pushed for a ‘climate lockdown’ War Measures Act similar to COVID lockdowns and personal carbon ration. But as Michael Schellenberger points out in a July 19, 2022 Substack post, if renewables were so much cheaper and reliable, there would be no requirement for the Democrats planned $300 billion in subsidies or draconian measures.

Ken Gregory, P. Eng. did a reanalysis of a decarbonization estimate by Thomas Tanton and reported in “The Cost of Net Zero Electrification of the USA” – Net Zero would cost the USAUS$433 trillion, or 20 times the U.S.A. 2019 GDP, assuming no fossil fuels are used.”

CLINTEL, a group of over 1,100 scientists and scholars who are signatory to the World Climate Declaration state there is no climate emergency; nature is more influential than humans on climate. Likewise, the more than 1-million-member International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) say that we are in the Meghalayan age, noting on twitter that the Anthropocene is more a sociological phenomenon than stratigraphic.

As the Feb. 2021 peer-reviewed paper by Roger Pielke, Jr. and Justin Ritchie shows, climate policy has been distorted by the misuse of a catastrophic scenario known as “RCP 8.5″which is no longer seen by the IPCC as the likely future of humankind as explained by Roger Pielke, Jr.

An example of the misuse of this scenario can be seen in this video (at 3:00) with Dr. Katharine Hayhoe claiming RCP 8.5 as ‘business-as-usual’, which it is not.

Friends of Science Society says the present energy crisis and looming global famine are the result of media censorship and climate catastrophe groupthink by environmental organizations which have stifled debate and skewed public policy. An open letter to the ironically named Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), condemns a report maligning Friends of Science and others who hold dissenting views on climate. ISD advocates for Big Tech censorship on dissenting views on climate change, which violates fundamentals for the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights that the ISD claims to uphold. A 1999 study by Amartyr Sen showed that press censorship leads to mass famine.

Friends of Science Society have also issued another open letter to insurance companies that are being harassed by environmental groups that are trying to block Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion (TMX) in Canada. TMX would serve consumers and enhance energy security. The letter debunks the ridiculous claims of the activist ENGOs. The Alberta Inquiry’s forensically audited “Deloitte Report” found that billions of dollars of foreign funding is behind many such groups. Friends of Science report “Manufacturing a Climate Crisis” exposes the role of West Coast Environmental Law and others in the ‘green trade war’ against Alberta’s oil sands.

About
Friends of Science Society is an independent group of earth, atmospheric and solar scientists, engineers, and citizens that is celebrating its 20th year of offering climate science insights. After a thorough review of a broad spectrum of literature on climate change, Friends of Science Society has concluded that the sun is the main driver of climate change, not carbon dioxide (CO2).
