Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson Raise $500,000 at annual Blue-Door Bash.

CARSON, Calif., Nov. 10, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson (BGCC) announced today that it raised $500,000 at its annual Blue-Door Bash last week at Dignity Health Sports Park. The event celebrated BGCC’s 30th anniversary serving South Los Angeles and was attended by numerous dignitaries including City of Carson Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes; Carson Mayor Pro-Tem Jawane Hilton; Carson Councilmember Jim Dear; President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America Jim Clark; Kim Richards, BGCC CEO; L.A. Unified School District South Superintendent Michael Romero; Long Beach City Councilmember Al Austin II; representatives of corporate partners and presenting sponsors Mattel, Marathon, Carson Companies and Watson Land Company, and many more.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson Celebrates 30 Years
What started 30 years ago (1992), BGCC is on track to serve approximately 5,000 elementary, middle and high school youth each day through 18 locations in Carson, Gardena, Watts and South Los Angeles. Aiding one of the most diverse communities in the country, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson (BGCC) provides a safe, engaging and equitable space for every child – regardless of race, gender, ability, religion, and socioeconomic status – in its care. BGCC provides welcoming, positive environments in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults that can significantly impact the rest of their lives. The after-school programs bridge the gap between school and home to enable underserved youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
