Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson Celebrates 30 Years
What started 30 years ago (1992), BGCC is on track to serve approximately 5,000 elementary, middle and high school youth each day through 18 locations in Carson, Gardena, Watts and South Los Angeles. Aiding one of the most diverse communities in the country, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson (BGCC) provides a safe, engaging and equitable space for every child – regardless of race, gender, ability, religion, and socioeconomic status – in its care. BGCC provides welcoming, positive environments in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults that can significantly impact the rest of their lives. The after-school programs bridge the gap between school and home to enable underserved youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Despite 97% of BGCC youth living in poverty, Club members are thriving in school and meeting life’s challenges with the support and opportunities provided by the Club. Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson cultivates dreams, encourages discovery and develops lifelong learners.
